1. The Zero-Trust Security Philosophy
Your social media accounts represent your livelihood and creative identity. At Kpugi, we adhere to a strict zero-trust security architecture:
- Kpugi will NEVER ask for your social media password.
- Kpugi will NEVER request 2FA authentication codes.
- Kpugi will NEVER ask for full OAuth account management or direct message access.
Instead, we developed the proprietary Code-in-Bio Verification Protocol. This allows creators to mathematically prove account ownership and control without granting Kpugi any third-party app permissions on your personal devices.
2. Step-by-Step: Connecting Your Channel
To connect and verify any public profile across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X (Twitter), or Facebook:
- Log into your Creator Dashboard and navigate to Connected Accounts (/c/accounts).
- Click Connect New Account and select your social platform.
- Enter your exact public handle (e.g.
@YourHandle). Do not include additional characters or spaces. - Kpugi generates a unique, cryptographically random verification string (for example:
kpugi-v8f2a9x1). - Open your social media profile settings and paste the verification string into your public bio / profile description.
- Return to Kpugi and click Verify Account.
- Our automated scraper queries your public bio via server-side scrapers. Once detected, your handle is instantly verified and connected to your creator profile.
- Clean up: Once verified, you may immediately delete the code from your social media bio!
Pro Tip: You only need to verify each channel once. The code only needs to stay in your bio for the 10 seconds it takes our scraper to read your profile.
3. Supported Social Platforms & Content Formats
- TikTok: Public creator and business accounts. Supports video posts and TikTok Short formats.
- Instagram: Public creator or business profiles. Supports Instagram Reels and feed video posts.
- X (Twitter): Public X handles. Supports video posts, quote tweets, and threads.
- YouTube: Public channels. Supports YouTube Shorts and standard video uploads.
- Facebook: Public pages and creator profiles. Supports Facebook Reels and feed video posts.
4. Troubleshooting Common Verification Errors

5. Account Management & Disconnecting Channels
You can manage all your linked channels directly under Connected Accounts (/c/accounts):
- Disconnecting an Account: You can disconnect a handle at any time as long as you do not have an active submission undergoing live view verification from that channel.
- Account Transfer Ban: You may only verify channels that you personally own, create, and curate. Renting, leasing, or selling verified accounts is grounds for an immediate permanent ban.
